Laima Savisceviene is a traditional craftswoman of national heritage products, nurturer of old crafts, creator of straw gardens and a bunch of willows. Laima is a well-known folk artist in Lithuania, who has won several awards, whose tied gardens can be seen in the Dieveniskes Regional Park, in the Dzukija National Park, Merkine Visitor Center, in the European Parliament (Brussels) and are widely spread all over the world.
She produces her products only according to the old traditions characteristic of the Dzukija region. Laima is not only a creator, but also a botanist and florist, who knows perfectly well when to pick a flower and how to dry it. She is a talented teacher who conveys the secrets of making straw crafts to young people and anyone who wants to.
According to the craftswoman, straw gardens are a symbol that brings happiness to the house. They seem to reflect the heavenly order, an ideal garden. In ancient times, they were hung at home during holidays - in the hermitage above the table during weddings and Easter.
Laima Savisceviene also pours natural wax candles. They, like straw gardens, stars and toys, are a certified traditional product.
